Langlang Buana Nusantara / Journey through the Indonesian Archipelago: More Than Just Spice

Polyglot Indonesia Jakarta Chapter presents the Language Exchange Meetup activities series entitled "Langlang Buana Nusantara!" In the third meetup of this series, we discussed the language and culture in the Maluku Islands in an activity entitled "More Than Just Spice" held on February 16, 2019. In collaboration with Keluarga Mahasiswa Maluku UI (KMM UI), a student union of Maluku Province at Indonesia University, we present unique facts about the Maluku Islands and teach the Ambonese Indonesian.

The Language of the Indigenous Assyrians: Current Situation, Challenges and Strategies for Future Preservation

Assyrian Aid Society of Iraq with Assyrian Cultural Center in Duhok, Iraq, will hostel the event titled ( Language of the Indigenous Assyrians: Current Situation, Challenges and Strategies for Future Preservation ) which will be a one day Seminar, and will include discussion papers in the following subjects: 1: The importance of language for the ethnic identity of Assyrians as an indigenous people. 2: The history of Assyrian written and spoken dialect. 3: Advances in language development and education in Iran and Ottoman Turkey. 4: The experience and importance of Assyrian language teaching in Iraq, and 5: The language teaching experience in Syria and the role of technology and social media

Este evento es una reunión de 45-50 activistas digitales de lenguas indígenas de Latinoamérica, donde compartirán un mismo espacio para fortalecer capacidades e intercambiar de manera más reducida sus experiencias y la formación enfocada a estrategias. Se presentarán debates y se dará seguimiento a las propuestas surgidas de la conferencia de lenguas indígenas en internet de Costa Rica, 2015.

Conferencia pública de Activismo Digital de Lenguas Indígenas en Internet

Este evento es una conferencia abierta al público en general e interesados en explorar la intersección de la revitalización y la tecnología de las lenguas indígenas, sumando el ambiente tecno-político actual, que también incluye el acceso y la adopción de estas herramientas, así como un lugar para mostrar los proyectos que están haciendo el cambio en la región. La conferencia se celebraría en el Centro Cultural de España en Guatemala, en el centro histórico de la ciudad.

The Canadian Language Museum at Kishay Pisim Mamawihitowin 2019 – 28th annual Great Moon Gathering

The Canadian Language Museum's "Cree: The People's Language" will be showcased at the upcoming "Kishay Pisim Mamawihitowin 2019 - 28th annual Great Moon Gathering" in Timmins Ontario. Elaine Gold and Stephanie Pile of the Canadian Language Museum will also be hosting a workshop facilitating conversation about strategies with language speakers, teachers, and activists, to get people excited about Indigenous language!
